    Minimum offer levels
    Generally speaking our minimum conditional offer is A*AA at A2 (excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking) for Arts subjects and A*A*A at A2 for Sciences. There are no hard and fast rules as such, but, as a general guide, for an applicant sitting four or more A levels (excluding General Studies) we would normally expect them to achieve at least an A grade in all those A levels to meet their…read more

      A team of astronomers, led by St. John's College Research Associate Dr. George Becker, has found evidence of climate change on a truly astronomical scale.   Using light from distant quasars the team was able to measure the temperature of intergalactic gas, finding evidence of a "warming trend" early in the history of the Universe.     Green Day 2010 – A focal day for behavioural change in the College
    On Thursday the 18th November 2010 St John’s College had Green Day 2010. The day was about rethinking the ways in which we use energy. The College managed to save an impressive 11% on gas and 5% on our electricity consumption. This saved almost one tonne of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) being released, which is enough to fill 230,372 two-litre bottles. This also saved £100 in just the one day. More…read more

    Jonathan Gilmour, currently studying for a PhD in Jewish Philosophy, was recently named'˜Young Person of the Year' by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (MDC).     This year’s Telethon raised a final sum of £206,936 with over 350 pledges of support for the College’s fundraising Campaign exceeding our original target of £180,000.
