Technical information about this website’s accessibility
St John’s College, University of Cambridge, is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
On some pages there isn’t an H1 tag but the large text looks like a page title. This wouldn’t be read aloud by some screen readers. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.10 (Section Headings)
We plan to address this in 2024
On some pages ID attribute values are not unique. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.1 (Parsing)
We plan to address this in 2024
On some pages, links with the same accessible name serve a similar purpose. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.9 (Link Only)
We plan to address this in 2024
Disproportionate burden
Issuu is used to display our magazines, publications, and prospectus. We understand the controls of this third-party script are hard to use, and St John’s will work towards investigating alternatives with Code Enigma.
