So sorry to hear of Sir Christopher's passing. Even though we only met on one occasion I remember him with great warmth. He will be sadly missed, and is a deeply felt loss not only to St John's but to the world.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Sir Christopher. Sadly, I never had the opportunity to meet him but I know what a wonderful Master he was and the great contribution he made to science and medicine. I send my deepest sympathy to his family. Rest in peace.

My thoughts go to the family of Sir Christopher and wish them courage. A great man goes, but his legacy will survive.

I was very sorry indeed to hear today of Chris Dobson’s untimely death. He was such a marvellously open, talented, distinguished, and generous friend, who gave so much to St. John’s. I send my condolences to Mary Dobson, and to their sons, Richard and William for their loss . It is a very sad day for all of us. It was a great honour to have known Chris Dobson. It is difficult to find the words to express our great sense of loss.

Both my wife Catherine (Newnham) and I were greatly saddened to hear of Sir Christopher's death.
It was clear that he had a transformative impact on St John's during his Mastership, knew everyone associated with the College, and was loved and admired in equal measure.
We were both glad to have met him at the Larmor dinners, where not only did he ensure that the College staff were thanked and applauded, but he came to breakfast the morning afterwards and talked to everyone. A special memory was in 2012 when we watched the Olympic flame from the Master's garden, and were served sausage rolls by Sir Christopher and Mary, because they did not want to make the staff get up early on a Sunday.
Our deepest condolences to Mary, Richard and William.

My wife and I had a wonderful conversation with Sir Christopher at the most recent afternoon event we attended at St John's, and we're very sad to hear of his passing, especially at such a relatively young age. My father was also at St John's and had Parkinson's at the end of his life, and I am thankful that Sir Christopher dedicated significant time to research on Parkinson's disease. What a great man.

I met Chris only a few times at College dinners, and had memorable conversations with him about our shared interest in Alzheimer’s research. He will be much missed but hopefully the talented team he gathered around him will carry on the good work.

I would like to offer my condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Sir Christopher. He had a great record of academic achievement himself and support for the work of others and when I met him I found him kind and generous.

I joined the college when Sir Chistopher became Master. I remembered that when I first met him , the first thing he asked was whether I was happy. RIP.
