It was an honour to have had Sir Christopher Dobson as the Master of St John's College over the past 3 years. All his hard work, kindness and positivity has left a wonderful legacy for this great man, which will be forever remembered by us all. I am incredibly lucky to have met him.

I was very sad to hear the news. I had many conversations with Professor Dobson when exercising dining rights, and he poured me a sherry or two. One did not quite realise how formidable his achievements were, so easy and pleasant was it to chat to him. I'm thinking of Lady Dobson at this time.

My heartfelt condolences to Chris's family, wife and children. Just like so many in our research community, I cannot imagine our community without Chris and his kind, inspirational and visionary leadership. I am incredibly saddened by this huge loss to all of us. I feel it has been a great privilege for me to have been able to discuss science with Chris over the years and I will remember these occasions fondly. Chris, you will be deeply missed.

I am incredibly lucky and honoured to have had Sir Christopher as Master of college over the last three years of my studies at St. John's. He was truly the beating heart of college and was always a pleasure to meet him in his lodge, or at various other events throughout my time here. He will be fondly remembered by us all.

As a Natural Scientist I was delighted with Sir Christopher's election to Master of the College. The College and his co-workers I am sure will miss his intellect, drive and personality but most of all my thoughts are with his family in losing a husband and father over such a short period of time and at such an early age.
