This high-profile Innovation Centre with 53,000 sq ft occupied by 60 tenants was established 20 years ago by St John's College and has built an international reputation. It now seeks a Managing Director to succeed Walter Herriot OBE on his retirement in November 2008.

The successful applicant is likely to be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

• ability to manage a small business (including profit responsibility,  budgeting and financial management)
• ability to generate consultancy income and manage others as consultants
• ability to advise small and start-up businesses on key aspects such as business plans, company structure, finance and IP issues
• understanding of and sympathy with the high-technology business community and higher education
• ability to network with local, national and international organisations in innovation/entrepreneurship
• strategic thinking with a sense of mission
