Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2009

St John's College's prestigious scholarship programme in honour of Dr Manmohan Singh, the Indian Prime Minister. Dr Singh read Economics at St John's in the 1950s and was awarded an honorary doctorate last year.

The Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships have been established to bring outstanding Indian students to St John's College to read for postgraduate degrees in science, technology and social sciences. The College will welcome students on a full scholarship covering the total cost of their time here (including fees, travel and living expenses), tenable for up to three years, to read for MPhils and PhDs.

This venture has been backed by major organizations such as the BP Foundation, Rolls-Royce India and the Tata Group. The British Council, a leader in administering scholarship programmes, will manage the application process.
