Fellow of St John's wins international prize
A Cambridge physicist has become the first recipient of a major international award for his pioneering work on semiconductors and luminescence. Sir Richard Friend, Cavendish Professor of Physics, Fellow of St John's, has been presented with the first Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Prize for Science and Industry by French chemical company Rhodia.
