Philip Larkin (1922-85): ‘A Study of Reading Habits’, 1 Nov. 1961. A poem of three six-line verses.

With two letters from Larkin to Guy Lee, Librarian of the College, 16 Aug. and 1 Nov. 1961, the second apologizing for the delay in writing out the poem and, in presenting the poem, asking that the MS should not be put ‘on exhibition more than once every fifty years’. With, additionally, a duplicated paper by Larkin on the ‘Manuscripts of living British authors’ enclosed with his letter of 16 Aug. and three press cuttings, including an obituary notice. This poem was published in The Whitsun Weddings (1964).
