    Admission of Scholars 2007
    This year, in a new format, the Scholars of the College were admitted to their scholarships in the College Chapel on Saturday 27 October. Some 68 undergraduate and graduate students were presented to the Master who admitted them, in Latin, to their scholarships.     Honorary Fellow wins Nobel Prize
    It was announced yesterday that Professor Eric Maskin (Overseas Visiting Fellow 1987-1988, Honorary Fellow 2004), Leonid Hurwicz and Roger Myerson have won the 2007 Nobel Economics Prize for 'having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory,' the Nobel jury said.     Professor J A Crook, Fellow of St John's College since 1951 and Emeritus University Professor of Ancient History, died in Cambridge on Friday 7 September, aged 85 years. A funeral service will be held in St John's College Chapel on Monday 17 September at 2.30 p.m. All who wish to attend will be welcome.  At Professor Crook's own request, there will be no memorial service.read more
