My research focusses on the Chemical Physics of biomacromolecules, proteinaceous nanostructures and other soft systems. Recent topics of study have included the theoretical analysis of one-dimensional growth of breakable structures, the elucidation of the mechanical properties of protein aggregates and the development of approaches to quantify the rates of amyloid growth.
Representative publications:
  • An analytical solution to the kinetics of breakable filament assembly, Science, 326, 1533 (2009)
  • The role of intermolecular forces in defining the material properties of protein nanofibrils, Science, 318, 1900 (2007)
