Salary: Between £29,093—£30,716 pro rata (depending on experience) plus benefits

Hours: 16 hours per week (6pm – 10pm), working 3 shifts on and 3 shifts off – including weekends
St John’s College, one of the largest Colleges within the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a Porter to join our Portering Department. The role involves carrying out a variety of tasks including working in the Great Gate Porters’ Lodge to provide a welcoming reception service, patrolling the College to ensure the security of the College buildings and grounds and the safety of those living and working in the College and visitors.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a customer-related environment together with excellent communication skills, particularly in relation to young people. A calm and diplomatic attitude is essential, as is the ability to use their own initiative to solve problems.
