The Fellows of the College invite applications from outstanding candidates to succeed Professor Sir Christopher Dobson as Master for 10 years from 1st October 2020. Candidates will possess distinguished records of achievement and leadership in academia or another professional field; they will relish the opportunity to lead a vibrant and diverse community of academics, staff, students and alumni.

Founded in 1511 by Lady Margaret Beaufort, St John’s College is one of the largest colleges in the University of Cambridge, counting Nobel prize winners, Prime Ministers, scientists, artists, and leaders in business, public service and industry amongst its alumni. With over 150 Fellows covering the complete range of disciplines, a diverse student body of undergraduate and graduate students from across the world, and a focus on widening participation, the College is committed to the advancement of education, religion, learning and research.
