Louis Cha, Book of condolence. English and Chinese, 2018. 

Manuscript book containing memories of Professor Louis Cha, GBM, OBE, Honorary Fellow, who died 31 October 2018. Known widely by his pen name Jin Yong, he was one of China’s most celebrated authors. He graduated with a PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2010, the same year that he became an Honorary Fellow of St John’s, at the age of 86. Two copies of the book of condolence were held in the Porters Lodge from 7 to 30 November 2018 for Members of College and others who knew Professor Cha to sign and contribute their memories and tributes. One copy was sent to Professor Cha’s family. This copy was retained by the College, and deposited in the Library 15 January 2019. Text is in English and Chinese.
