15th-century Nuremberg blind-stamped calf binding for Anton Koberger (L.7.29)

15th-century blind-stamped calf over wooden boards with the author's name "Bartholomeus" as a title stamped in Gothic script in the top border of the front cover, and roll containing rose motif; impressions of 5 bosses on both covers (4 corners, 1 central), and book clasps. This style occured in Nuremberg at the end of 15th-century and continued into the 16th century. The printer Anton Koberger made frequent use of it, as here in his publication of Bartholomaeus Anglicus' De proprietatibus rerum (Nuremberg, 1483). The second image shows the author's name stamped into the front cover.
