16th-century English gold-decorated calf, with arms of Elizabeth I

An ornate binding bearing Queen Elizabeth I's arms to a volume which contains Edward VI's copy of Erasmus's Institutio principis Christiani (1529). The book bears inscriptions by Edward, but also a Greek inscription to Elizabeth by John Fox, the martyrologist, so the volume must have been passed on to her after her half-brother's death. Given by Thomas Baker.
