Field Sports Campaign Launch 28 April 2010

A week from today the Master will be welcoming Johnians who played or contributed to field sports to a drinks reception at One Great George Street in London.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of a British Foundation, which has pledged £1millon to match donations made to Field Sports, the College has been able to establish a new fund which will support current sporting activities by funding the upkeep of the grounds and facilities at St John's.

In order to launch the fund we have taken the opportunity to invite Johnians to hear about the College's plans for the future, progress of the Campaign and why endowing field sports is essential if we want to preserve the'˜Johnian experience' for future generations to enjoy.

This event has generated a very warm response from Johnians who all remember happy times playing sport on the St John's playing fields. We anticipate that the reception will be lively and informal with guests ranging in age from 19 to 81. Entertainment will include guest speakers, music from Johnian jazz trio'˜Classico Latino' and a Student vs Johnian sports quiz hosted by Dr Dick McConnel, Fellow and sports enthusiast.
