English undergraduate wins Rare Rising Stars 2013 Award

English undergraduate Justina Kehinde Ogunseitan recently became the youngest female recipient of the Rare Rising Stars 2013 Award for being one of the top ten black students in the UK. Justina Kehinde received the award for making history in November 2012 when she directed, produced and acted in the first all black and all female cast ever to perform on a Cambridge stage. Justina Kehinde is now taking the production (Ntozake Shange's 'For Colored Girls') to London for one night only on September 13th at the Canada Water Culture Space.

Last year, Justina Kehinde won the Benjamin Zephaniah Poetry Competition, the Cambridge Hammer & Tongue Slam Poetry competition and is a co-founder of FLY, which hosts weekly discussions for female Cambridge University students from ethnic minority backgrounds. Justina Kehinde was also a co-winner of the St John's Reinstein Jazz Prize 2013.
