St John’s College, one of the largest Colleges within the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint Catering Retail Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join the College’s Catering Senior Management Team. He/ she will assist the Catering and Hospitality Manager with the development and delivery of the departmental vision and strategy, particularly in the newly opened Buttery, Bar and Café.

The post holder will lead the managerial team of the Buttery, Bar and Café on the main College site, oversee day-to-day catering retail operations, ensuring high standards of food and drink quality is upheld,  and oversee the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures and policies alongside his/her team.

The postholder will be a proven leader with strong experience of leadership and management in a busy, diverse catering environment, working to tight deadlines with experience across a range of hospitality offerings.  The postholder will also have experience of leading Food Safety and Health and Safety management in a multi-outlet venue.  Food Safety Level 3 or above is required.  They will also hold a Degree in Management or Hospitality Management or equivalent on-the-job experience.
