Cambridge Science Festival 2019: Skeletons in the closet at St John's

Leiden anatomy theatre

For hundreds of years anatomists, archaeologists, and artists have been interested in the most durable part of the human body: our bones. From Margaret Beaufort’s book of hours to the photography of Samuel Butler, the special collections of St John’s College's Old Library include unique examples of this human fascination with skeletons. Come and explore medieval manuscripts, photographs and ‘medicinal’ animal bones in the beautiful surroundings of one of the oldest libraries in Cambridge.

This exhibition is open 11am-5pm in the Old Library, which is accessed via E Staircase, Second Court.
