Annual Disability Lecture
St John's College will be hosting the Disability Resource Centre’s 11th Annual Disability Lecture. The lecture will be given by Clinical Psychologist Rachel Perkins and is entitled “Creating Mentally Inclusive Communities: Embracing Distress as Part of Everyday Life”.
Rachel Perkins, Mind Champion of the Year 2010 and Chair of the English Department of Health Working Group on Equalities in Mental Health, will be talking about creating mentally healthy environments. Rachel has worked in NHS Mental Health Services for the last 30 years and has been awarded an OBE for services to mental health. She lives and works with a long term mental health condition and she influences the development of mental health services, with her work having a significant impact on service users.
