‘Leaders of Tomorrow’ to come together for GapSummit 2016 at St John’s College, Cambridge

The 2016 GapSummit, a major leadership conference in biotechnology, will take place in the Old Divinity School, St John’s College, 4-6 April 2016.

The international GapSummit, organised by Global Biotech Revolution, a not-for-profit organisation led by a team of students and early-stage professionals, provides aspiring bio-leaders with the opportunity to discuss the current and future challenges facing global biotechnology between now and 2050.

The three-day summit will bring together 100 rigorously selected 'Leaders of Tomorrow' from 42 different countries around the globe to connect with and challenge industry leaders, think tanks, research pioneers and policy makers, with the aim of learning about the gaps in the global bioeconomy and to develop solutions. Seven gaps in biotechnology will be discussed that are relevant to our society: research and innovation, funding, future health, future resources, people, bioethics, and public perception and education.

Notable speakers at this year’s GapSummit include Dr Peder Holk Nielsen, President & CEO, Novozymes; Dr Sophie Kornowski-Bonnet, Head of Roche Partnering, Roche ;Fiona Cicconi, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, AstraZeneca; Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, Vice-Chancellor, University of Cambridge; Professor Sir John Walker, Nobel Laureate & Emeritus Director, MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit; and Dr Reg Seeto, Vice President, Head of Partnering and Strategy, MedImmune.
