Who can visit and when
Regular opening times for permitted visitors are currently 10am–3.30pm

There may be days when the College has to close at short notice.

Information on those dates/times will be posted here as soon as the information is available.

November 2025 - end of February 2026
The College is open for permitted visitors (see below for details) to enter the College grounds and visit the Chapel without charge between 10am to 3.30pm

Permitted visitorS

  • St John's alumni and their guests
  • Cambridge University card holders (including two guests)
  • CAMCard holders (including two guests)
  • Cambridge residents (documentary evidence is required of a home address with a CB postcode)
  • Prospective students (including two guests)
  • Attendees at Chapel services
  • Attendees at other events in College

Tourism dates - 2025/26

The College is open to the public to visit the College grounds and Chapel upon payment of an entrance fee during the below dates and times:

·     6 December 2025 until 19 January 2026 between 10am and 3:30pm

·     21 March 2026 until 27 April 2026 between 9.30am and 4.30pm

·     6 July 2026 until 30 September 2026 between 9.30am and 4.30pm

Adults - £15

Children (12-16) - £8

Senior citizens (age 66 and over) - £8

Students - £8

Please Note

The College may close outside of the above times/dates due to other events or for operational reasons

  • Payment by bank card only (excluding American Express)
  • No dogs or animals allowed other than assistance dogs
  • No re-entry after admission
  • All commercial groups of five or more people that wish to visit the College, will need to be led by a qualified guide. These guides (who are members of the Society of Cambridge Tourist Guides) will be provided by Cantab Tours. There is a discounted group booking rate of £8 per person. Booking enquiries should be directed to Cantab Tours.
