Permission requirements
St John's is a private, residential community as well as a place of study and work. We ask all visitors to respect the privacy, wellbeing and security of our students, Fellows, staff and guests.
Photography, filming and audio recording on College property is restricted and, in many circumstances, requires prior permission from the College.
Organised photography and filming always requires prior permission from the College. This includes, but is not limited to, posed photoshoots of any kind, content creation, commercial filming, media interviews and drone use.
Where unauthorised organised photography or filming is taking place, or is suspected of taking place, College staff may require individuals to stop photographing, filming or recording, relocate to another location, or leave College property.
Anyone wishing to request permission to undertake organised photography, filming or recording on College property should submit an application at least one week in advance of the proposed visit. Commercial fees may apply.
