St John’s College Climate Crisis Lecture

Professor Sir David King FRS, an Emeritus Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, and Founder and Chair of the Climate Crisis Advisory Group, will give the third public St John’s College Climate Crisis Lecture.

Titled The climate crisis: a manageable way forward for humanity, the lecture is free and open to all but advance registration is required.

In the lecture, he will review the science of climate change and explain the current global state of our shifting climate.

Sir David, who is a former Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK government, and Founder of the Centre for Climate Repair at Cambridge, will propose a practical strategic pathway with four elements: rapid emissions reduction, excess greenhouse gas removal, Earth system stabilisation, and resilience appropriate to every region of the world.

Ahead of the 5pm lecture, from 4-4.45pm, there will be three brief student presentations about research related to the climate crisis for those who wish to attend. The event will conclude with a drinks reception.
