William Owen, Untitled verses. Latin, early nineteenth century


William Owen, Fellow of St John’s College (1792-1823): verses possibly addressed to the Master or President of the College, no date but apparently c. 1815 when Owen was elected a Fellow of the College. The name W. Owen at top right.

Supplementary information 

280x225mm. A single sheet. At the foot a penciled note signed by R. F. Scott, Master of the College from 1908-33: ‘I found the sheet of verses apparently by W. Owen within the leaves of an old “Rental”.’ Presumably transferred to the Library when found, or after Scott’s death.
