Purchased from Sotheby's in 1923 by Sir Robert Leicester Harmsworth (Sotheby's catalogue entry of 4 June 1923 enclosed).
Purchased by George Udny Yule at the Harmsworth sale, Sotheby's 15 October 1945, lot 1888 (see enclosed letter to Yule from H. Clifford Maggs, dated 6 October 1945).
