Professor Azadeh Mohammadi

Professor Azadeh Mohammadi is a Professor of Physics at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil (https://www.ufpe.br/ppgfisica/corpo-docente). Her research focuses on topological objects known as solitons, exploring their interactions with each other and with other classical and quantum fields in flat and curved spacetimes.

She is also recognised for her work on the Casimir effect in both fermionic and bosonic systems. During her time at St John’s, Azadeh will investigate the spectral structure and the spectral wall phenomenon in nonlinear classical and quantum systems. She also aims to advance the understanding of long-lived, nontopological objects known as oscillons in nonlinear field theories.
