Background

Yara is a Research Fellow affiliated with the Center for Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Psychology. She completed her PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2026 as a Gates Scholar and holds a BA (Hons) in Mathematics and Psychology from New York University. Yara was part of The Alan Turing Institute’s Enrichment Scheme, focusing on the social evaluation of AI, and completed a research internship with Nokia Bell Labs’ Responsible AI team on Constitutional AI. She is the recipient of the 2025 Women of the Future Award in AI.
