Departmental homepageLees is Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Cambridge, a Fellow of St John's College and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. In Cambridge, she leads the Concrete Infrastructure Research Group within the Civil Engineering Division. She is a Director of Cambridge’s EPSRC Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment (FIBE2 & FIBE3) and was awarded an EPSRC Established Career Fellowship (2017-23) to pursue ideas on tailored reinforced concrete infrastructure.
Professor Lees teaches on Part IB Engineering – Structures.
The main interests of Professor Lees' research group relate to the development of more sustainable reinforced concrete infrastructure. Ongoing project areas include the lifetime extension of existing infrastructure and the reduction of embodied carbon in new concrete construction.
