Departmental homepageDr Faidon Varesis is a University Assistant Professor specializing in private international law and international dispute resolution. He holds an MJur with Distinction from the University of Oxford and has earned both an LLM in Civil Law (Summa Cum Laude) and an LLB (Summa Cum Laude) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Dr Varesis completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge and his dissertation Regulation of Arbitral Jurisdiction: A Private International Law Proposal was published by Routledge in 2023.
Dr Varesis is lecturing (at the Faculty of Law) on International Dispute Resolution, Contract Law, and Advanced Private Law and he is supervising students in Contract Law and Conflict of Laws.
His research interests focus on International Commercial Arbitration and Private International Law, including international disputes, conflict of judgments, and issues of applicable law in the carbon markets.
