Personal and family papers

Carrighan 2.3.10(3)library/special_collections/

St John's College Library's Special Collections contain the personal papers of alumni and Fellows of the College relating to their professional and private lives. (Papers created by College officers in their official capacity are kept in the College's institutional archives.) The personal papers date from the sixteenth century to the present day, with the nineteenth and twentieth centuries being most strongly represented. The collections include manuscript papers, photographs, artworks, maps, music and printed material, as well as artefacts, audio-visual and electronic media. To search the personal papers click here

To search across all of the College's archival collections in both the Special Collections and the Archives click here.

The Library's collections of personal papers (though not the College Archives) are also included in the Janus catalogue, which includes repositories across Cambridge University and Colleges. Please note that from January 2018, records for papers at St John's will not be updated on Janus. For all new additions to the collections please consult the local catalogue.
