Cambridge Open Days are aimed at prospective applicants from Year 12 (or equivalent) and Year 13 and mature applicants (aged 21 or over), together with their parents or supporters, to help them learn more about the University.
If you are considering applying for an undergraduate course, open days are held in July to visit colleges and departments, and September to visit colleges.
During our open days, you can find out about courses, St John’s College and the University departments. You’ll be able to explore the College with a current student as your tour guide and ask our academics and other subject specialists and undergraduates questions about living and studying at the University of Cambridge. You can learn about our facilities, the application process, student life, and ways to finance your studies.
Our next open day, which runs from 9.30am-4.30pm, is for prospective undergraduates who are thinking of applying in October 2026 for entry in 2027.
As well as College tours led by St John's students, there will be a drop-in event in Hall where you can chat to the Director of Studies in the subjects you are interested in. The timetable will be posted to this page ahead of the open day.
A talk called Making a competitive Cambridge application in the coming UCAS round will be held at 10am and again at 2pm, so there is no need to attend both. They will be followed by Q&A sessions.
For prospective students who will be staying in Cambridge before the open day, our Tutor for Undergraduate Admissions will host the same talk at 7.30pm on Thursday 10 September. Attendees should arrive at the Great Gate (WhatThreeWords ///traps.after.panels) on St John's Street between 7pm and 7.20pm to be guided to the talk being held in the Palmerston Room of the College's Fisher Building.

Outside of open days, prospective applicants are welcome to visit for a self-guided tour. For further information and to check the College is open to prospective applicants on the day you would like to visit, please email the Admissions team.
St John's College also holds a free programme of Visit Days for teachers and students throughout the year.
