Internationally-acclaimed pianist Zoe Rahman brings her award-winning trio to St John's as part of the College's Jazz at John's programme.

There will be an opening set from St John's student Oscar Trott.

The Zoe Rahman Trio are Zoe Rahman on piano, Andrea di Biase on bass, and Gene Calderazzo on drums.

A vibrant and highly individual pianist and composer, Zoe Rahman’s style is deeply rooted in jazz yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste.

Known for her powerful technique, wide-ranging imagination and exuberant performance, she has become a highly sought-after musician on the international jazz scene.

Born in Chichester, UK, to a Bengali father and English mother, Zoe studied classical piano at the Royal Academy of Music, took a music degree at Oxford University and then won a scholarship to study jazz performance at Berklee College of Music, Boston, where she studied with the inspirational pianist Joanne Brackeen.

A MOBO Award winner, Mercury Prize nominee and Ivor Novello Award winner, Zoe has established herself as a unique presence in the British music industry, releasing seven albums under her own name. Her latest release, Colour of Sound, won Album of the Year at the 2024 Parliamentary Jazz Awards.

Doors open 6.30pm for 7pm start. General admission tickets £18 plus booking fee; students / concs £12 plus booking fee; £5 for College members.
