Sunday Evensong Sermon Series

WHAT IS TRUTH?

In a world struggling to see clearly through conspiracy and fake news, seeking truth is more urgent than ever. In this sermon series, we will use the question posed to Jesus by Pontius Pilate to explore what truth really is, how we might find it, and what it means for how we live.

Preacher: The Rev’d Andrew Hurst, Assistant Priest, St Mark’s Newnham and St Andrew’s, Grantchester

Andrew Hurst was ordained Deacon during Covid at Michaelmas 2020 and priested the following summer. He is in self-supporting ministry, licensed to St Mark’s, Newnham in west Cambridge and St Andrew and St Mary, Grantchester.

Andrew trained part-time with Eastern Region Ministry Course while working full time as a barrister in private practice. In 2019 he was appointed a Circuit Judge sitting in Crime. He sat for five years in Basildon, Essex before moving to Cambridge Crown Court in July last year.

He is also appointed to the First Tier Tribunal to chair Mental Health Tribunals concerning Restricted Patients. A graduate of Oxford but born and growing up in Cambridge makes him appreciate both shades of blue.
