'The revolution in nonfiction writing'

St John's College postgraduate Ben Weissenbach (PhD in Polar Studies) discusses his new award-winning book North To the Future, about his time embedded with ecologists in Arctic Alaska.

His book is dedicated to pioneer of creative nonfiction John McPhee, his teacher at Princeton. McPhee, who studied at Cambridge in the 1950s, has written more than 30 books and has been a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine for 60 years.

In conversation with Weissenbach will be Noel Rubinton, author of a new book on McPhee, Looking for a Story: A Complete Guide to the Writings of John McPhee. The two will discuss Alaska, McPhee, and the evolution of literary nonfiction.

Free and all welcome, no need to book.
