Cambridge Open Day

Find out what it is like to live, study and socialise at St John’s as an undergraduate during September’s Cambridge Open Day for colleges.

Our last open day of the year on Friday 12 September is an in-person event aimed at new Year 13 students who will be applying in 2025 for 2026 entry.  

The programme runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm with talks and other activities taking place throughout the day to get a real flavour of being an undergraduate here.

Prospective applicants can:

• take tours of St John’s led by current students, and ask students, staff and academics questions
• attend one of two talks (10am and 2pm) called Making a competitive Cambridge application in the coming UCAS round‍
• chat to our Directors of Studies between 11am-2pm in the College’s 16th-century Hall
• learn about ways to finance your studies
• try our food in the Buttery and Café and learn about all our other facilities.

St John's is offering some overnight accommodation on Thursday 11 September 2025 for those attending the open day – register your interest below.

Evening talk on 11 September: making a competitive application

A talk is also being given by our Tutor for Undergraduate Admissions at St John’s at 7.30pm on Thursday 11 September for prospective students who are staying overnight at the College for the 12 September open day.

The Making a competitive Cambridge application in the coming UCAS round talk is an excellent opportunity to hear about applying to Cambridge from those who are involved in the decision making.  

It will be held in the Main Lecture Theatre in the Old Divinity School

Overnight stays

St John's is offering some accommodation on Thursday 11 September for those attending the open day. It is for one guest per room, and bookings are limited to one parent/guardian per student. Ensuite rooms are limited and not guaranteed. Check-in is from 3pm.

Costs for one night (excluding VAT) are:

Single non-ensuite: £46.67pp

Single ensuite: £69.98pp

If there is more interest than room availability, priority will be given to those travelling the greatest distances for the open day.
