St John’s College is looking to appoint a Porter to join our Portering Department.  The role involves carrying out a variety of tasks including working in the College Porters’ Lodges to provide a welcoming reception service to members of the College and visitors, patrolling the College to ensure the security of the College buildings and grounds and the safety of those living and working in the College and visitors and responding to emergencies.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a customer-related environment together with excellent communication skills and the ability to work on his/her own initiative.  A calm and flexible attitude is essential.

Between £20,573 - £22,931 per annum pro rata (depending on experience) plus benefits
13.5 hours per week – worked over a 7-day rota. The shift pattern will consist of working three shifts of 6pm – 10pm and then three shifts off on a repeating basis. Some overtime working will be required.
