Dr William Denys Armstrong, OBE, MA, PhD (Christ's), Fellow of St John's College 1970-2006, Steward 1970-1975, University Lecturer in Chemical Engineering 1954-1986, died on 29 November 2006, aged 80.

Dr Bob Jordan (BA 1961) will give an illustrated talk entitled 'Sir Edmund Hillary's Schoolhouses in the Clouds: their first inspection in 1968'. The Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, (BA St John's 1957) received the honorary degree of Doctor of Law at a special congregation at the Senate House today, Wednesday 11 October. The ceremony was followed by a reception and lunch in the College.
