Professor Sir Christopher Dobson PhD Scholarship in Protein Misfolding
Thanks to most generous support from the Wilkinson Foundation, the College is in a position to support a PhD Scholarship in protein misfolding, to be named in honour of Sir Christopher Dobson, late Master of the College and John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Chemical and Structural Biology in the University of Cambridge.
Eligibility and Tenure
The Scholarship is open to those of Home Fee Status intending to pursue doctoral research into protein misfolding at the University of Cambridge, with a preference for research pursued at the Centre for Misfolding Diseases. It is awarded for periods of up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress.
The Professor Sir Christopher Dobson Scholarship will be awarded as part of the College’s Benefactors’ Scholarships process. Those interested should apply through the normal University processes for an eligible PhD programme by the end of November 2020, and name St John’s as their college of first choice. Admission to the University course is a prerequisite of further consideration. Eligible candidates will be reviewed by the College and a beneficiary chosen in March/April 2021. The Scholarship will commence in the following September.
