Persephone and Demeter

Passages from Ovid and a Homeric hymn are being brought to the stage in a powerful new production at St John's College, Cambridge, this February. "Persephone and Demeter" is an intensely moving drama about a mother's loss and grief transformed into a universal myth. The play will be performed in the original Greek and Latin, with English surtitles. In this short trailer, Professor Patrick Boyde, Producer, Director, and Fellow of St John's, provides a taste of what audiences can expect.

The play is open to all and will be on 18 and 19 February in the Old Divinity School at St John's College. Entry is free, but seat reservations are strongly advised - book now at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1A-cqZjWrf_QovQw1A_N9y_xPx0m26WZISuGrWteJeF0/viewform?c=0&w=1&usp=send_form
