Medieval Manuscripts Cataloguer

St John’s College is looking to appoint a Medieval Manuscripts Cataloguer for a period of eight months to compile physical descriptions of the College’s 270 medieval manuscripts as part of a wider project to create a new catalogue for the collection.

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent. A sound knowledge of codicology and the terminology and conventions used in the descriptive cataloguing of medieval manuscripts is required, together with demonstrable previous cataloguing experience.  The role requires initiative, accuracy, good time-management, and the ability to work independently.
