19th-century fore-edge paintings (Aa.6.38)

19th-century fore-edge paintings from one of a two volume set of The remains of Henry Kirke White 10th ed. (London, 1823). It incorporates scenes of Nottingham and Newark Castle, together with a portrait of White. A native of Nottingham, White was also a Johnian and a celebrated poet amongst his contemporaries, particularly after his untimely death at the age of 21.
