The St John's Innovation Internship scheme, which was launched in 2016, will provide again this year the opportunity to current Undergraduate and Master's students in the College to undertake an internship at a partner company over the summer.

Five placements will be available for Long Vacation 2019. The internships will be sponsored by the College and will last eight weeks,. The precise dates will be decided between the companies and the interns.

Further Information

The interns will receive free accommodation in College, and a living allowance, provided by the College, of £1,000 per month.

The Companies

The internships (up to 40 hours per week) will be held at a partner company. Most partner companies are based at the St John's Innovation Centre and receive weekly mentoring sessions from Mr David Gill, Director of the Centre.

For summer 2019, there are seven companies which have offered intern positions within the scheme. Please click on the links below to find out more about the companies and the projects.

The online application system will open on Thursday 28th February and the closing date for applications is Wednesday 13th March 2019.

Students who wish to apply will be asked to:

(i) write a personal statement for the College and state which company / project they are interested in (they can select up to 3 projects as long as they state them in an order of preference) and how the internship would benefit their personal and academic development,

(ii) enclose their CV (including A level and Exams results), and

(iii) enclose a cover letter about the project and their suitability for it. If they are interested in more than one projects, they may wish to write separate cover letters for each of them, as their cover letters will be shared with the companies offering the placements each student applies for .

On the online application form, there is a field about "Previous exchange experience" - please leave this blank as it is not relevant in your case.

Student Services would be happy to respond to informal enquiries and requests for information.
