SpecialisationMacroeconomics, International finance, fiscal policy and macro-financial linkages
Research interestsMy research interest fall into two areas in quantitative macroeconomics. In previous work, I have looked at fiscal policy design and bailout policies in response to public debt crises, and the interaction of policy instruments with economic inequality. More generally, I am interested in the impact of financial market imperfections on macroeconomic outcomes, and their effect on predictions for optimal macroeconomic policies. Furthermore, I study the origins and importance of cross-country spillovers in an increasingly globalised world, with a particular view on multinational corporations and financial institutions, the implications for international risk sharing and the scope for international policy coordination.
