College Maintenance Manager

Salary:                  £38,836.97 - £45,023.77 (depending on experience) plus benefits

St John’s College is seeking to appoint a College Maintenance Manager to proactively manage and meet the day to day maintenance needs of the College.

Reporting to the Head of College Buildings, you will assist with the management and organisation of the Maintenance Department activities and its staff to contribute to the efficient running of the department. Together with the College Project Manager, you will deputise for the Head of College Buildings, during their absence, to ensure seamless running of the Department in addition to motivating and developing the team to maintain and grow the high standards of craftsmanship that the College has become accustomed to. 

The successful candidate will have a HNC or ONC as a minimum in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a Building Services discipline and hold a relevant recognised qualification in Health and Safety (i.e. NEBOSH/IOSH). They will have worked in a similar educational environment and have familiarity with the legislative, compliance and sustainability issues associated with day to day maintenance work, ideally in a historic buildings context. They will also have the ability to manage a varied and complex workload and possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
