Art and Photography Competition 2017

The St John's Art and Photography Competition 2017 will be accepting entries between 24 and 28 April from undergraduates and postgraduates who want to showcase their artistic skills.

This popular annual contest allows all resident junior members to submit their photographs, sculptures, paintings, drawings, prints, and digital film, with winning entries receiving prizes of up to £200. Members can submit up to two entries in six different categories, and last year saw around 100 students entering the competition.

Last year’s winners included Bernadette Schramm, with a shot capturing the sunlight rising over the turrets of New Court on the morning after May Ball, Aaron Tam, with a photo of a man on a bicycle in a park in the Swedish city of Malmo, and Kla Karava, with his photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

Entries for this year's competition will be accepted at the Library Issue Desk between Monday 24 and Friday 28 April.  Prizes will be awarded during Easter Term, and there will be an exhibition of all the entries in the Library until the end of the term.

The competition rules can be found below. For further information about the competition please ask at the Library Issue Desk or email Angela McKenzie, a.r.mckenzie@joh.cam.ac.uk.
