Year 12 Law Study Day

Wed, 05/07/2017 - 10:00 - 16:00

Are you thinking about applying to Law at university? Want to learn more about the teaching Cambridge offers?

Come along to our Year 12 Law Study Day that is taking place on 5th JulyWe will be holding two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Please only book onto one session. The morning session will run from 9:45-12:30 and the afternoon session from 2:00-4:45.

The sessions are held on the same day as the University Law Faculty’s open day, with the hope that applicants will be able to attend both open days (the College open day in the morning and the University open day in the afternoon, or vice versa). The University open day is organised separately by the Faculty of Law, and applicants are required to make a separate booking through Faculty’s website: http://ba.law.cam.ac.uk/find-out-more/. Applicants do not need to attend the Faculty open day to attend the St John’s open day, but are encouraged to do so.

Both sessions will give you an insight into the study of Law as an academic discipline and the kind of research done by the Fellows of the College who teach our students.  Each session will include a research presentation by Professor Christine Gray on how international law controls the use of force in armed conflicts, and an interactive workshop led by Dr Albertina Albors-Llorens on the legal regulation of the EU’s internal market.  There will be a chance to meet current Law students.  Refreshments will be provided.

This day is free to attend and there is limited free overnight accommodation available to those who require it.

Support for travel costs may be available. For more information, please email accessofficer@joh.cam.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is the 21st June and applicants will be informed if they are offered a place by the 22nd JuneIn the case of oversubscription, preference will be given to applicants from state maintained schools and colleges.
