St John's College Art and Photography Competition 2015

The St John's Art and Photography Competition opens today for undergraduates and postgraduates to showcase their artistic skills.

This popular annual contest allows students to submit their photographs, sculptures, paintings, drawings, prints, and digital film, with winning entries receiving prizes of up to £200. Members can submit up to two entries in six different categories, and last year saw over 100 students entering the competition, with all entries displayed in the Library Exhibition Area.

Last year's winners included Christina Farley, who took a photo on her mobile phone of the sun filtering through the trees on the Backs, Chris Watkins, who submitted an image of his sister on horseback in California, and Tomos Prŷs-Jones, who painted a portrait of an old man with dazzling blue eyes.

Entries for this year's competition will be accepted at the Library Issue Desk between 20-24 April only, and there will be an exhibition of all the entries in the Library over the Easter Term.
