St John’s Fellow wins award for real estate research

Fellow of St John’s College, Dr Eva Steiner, is the recipient of the Aareal Award of Excellence in recognition of outstanding scientific research in real estate economics.

Dr Eva Steiner, Fellow of St John’s and Director of Studies in Land Economy, has won the Aareal Award of Excellence in Real Estate Research 2015. She won the award for her PhD thesis which promoted a clearer understanding of Real Estate Investment Trust capital structure choices.

The Aareal Award of Excellence is awarded by the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) of the EBS Business School and Aareal Bank AG. This annual award, now in its eighth year, recognises academically-outstanding research work in real estate economics, and attracts submissions from around the world, particularly from Europe, North America and Asia. Topics set for this year’s award were Real Estate Management, Real Estate Finance and Real Estate Economics for the three categories of Dissertation, Research Paper, and MSc-/BSc-/Diploma/Thesis.

The award will be presented to Dr Steiner at a ceremony on 6 March.
