St John’s College tops the leader board in the Athletics Autumn Cuppers

After two days of fierce competition on Wilberforce Road sports ground, St John’s College has raced ahead in the Athletics Cuppers with a score of 114 points.

The competition, which pits the Cambridge Colleges against each other in sporting events including hurdles, steeplechase, and hammer, was the setting for numerous personal bests and excellent performances.

In the men’s competition, St John’s topped the leader board 8 points ahead of their closest rival, Churchill, who came in second with 106.

In the women’s competition it was Sidney Sussex that emerged at the head of the pack, leading the field with 55 points. Queens’ and Emmanuel kept things close, however, with 48 and 46 respectively.

The second instalment of the Athletics Cuppers is in Lent term.
