NUS Research Exchange Programme

 a 12-week research programme at National University of Singapore

In collaboration with the National University of Singapore, the College will nominate two undergraduate students to undertake a 12-week research project at NUS for the Long Vacation 2017.

Dates

The project will be undertaken from 03rd July to 22nd September. There may be some flexibility with the dates, so if you are nominated and you would like to discuss this further, please let the College know and we will liaise with NUS to find out if this would be feasible.

Project

Students can choose to work under any of the faculty members in the following departments:

 If you are already in touch with a supervisor and there is a specific project that you would like to work on, then please include this information in your application. Otherwise, if your application is successful, NUS will assist you to secure a project suitable for you based on your research interests.

Costs covered

The tuition fees will be waived as part of the exchange agreement with NUS.

The College will also cover:

  • the travel expenses to and from Singapore,
  • the travel and health insurance, and
  • the accommodation costs at Singapore.

Assessment

  • When you return to the College, you will be asked to submit a report about your project at NUS and this report may be used in future publications of the College. Your supervisor at NUS will also be asked to submit an assessment form for your work.

Application procedure

The application procedure starts on Friday, 17th February and the deadline for applications will be on Wednesday, 8th March, at 9am.

Students who wish to apply will be asked to also enclose: (i) a basic CV, (ii) a personal statement of the reasons why they are interested in the Research Exchange Programme and how they feel that it would benefit their academic and personal development and (iii) a short description of their research interest topics (if they have identified any supervisors, they should also include their names).
